The Clendenin Advent Christian Church
The Clendenin Advent Christian Church was organized in 1925 by Rev. John Elmore with

seventeen charter members. Sister Ella Cummings purchased the old Baptist Church for $1500.00 and gave it to the new congregation. The congregation later repaid her. The first pastor was Rev. William Harper who served the church for one year. He was followed by Rev. Agee Withrow who served the church for seven years and Rev. Homer D. Baxter who pastored for four years.
In 1943, while Rev. A. Corbin Kiser was pastor, the growing congregation purchased our present building from the Methodist Church for $13,000.00. A parsonage was completed during the pastorate of J. Ronald Schoolcraft in 1954.
