Frankie Susan Shamblin, 94, of Clendenin passed away Monday, December 5, 2011 at Shafer's Personal Care Home, Clendenin after a long illness.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Willard Shamblin; sons, James Lake (JL) Shamblin and Charles Edward Shamblin; parents, James Lewis and Ona Elizabeth (Gandee) White; son-in-law, David Moles; and sisters, Billie Bradley, Diana Maxwell and Georgia Marie White.
Frankie, a member of the Clendenin Advent Christian Church, was a deaconess, WH & FM and a member of the Thelma Chapter No. 24 of the Eastern Star. She was also a Mother Advisor for Rainbow for Girls and a former employee of Clendenin Elementary School.
Survivors include her daughters, Margaret A. Moles of Elkview and Patricia G. Perry (Eugene) of Charleston; daughter-in-law, Pat Shamblin of Wheeling; brother, James E. White of Charleston; sisters, Betty Boggs of Charleston, Lois Nypl of Dunbar and Mary Hill of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren, Steven, Gina, Brad, Melissa, Megan and Amanda; and great-grandchildren, Izak, Elizabeth, David, Peter, Katie and Daniel.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Hospice, 1606 Kanawha Blvd. W., Charleston, WV 25387.
Frankie's funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, December 8, 2011 at the Advent Christian Church, Clendenin with the Rev. Nahum Balser officiating. Burial will be at Lewis White Cemetery, Clendenin.
Frankie's family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Matics Funeral Home, Clendenin.
